Below is a little more information about each new project. Although neither is live yet, I have grand plans and a very supporting network who will keep me accountable for living up to my dreams.
I am someone who likes to be busy. Now that I’m done working 60 hour weeks tending to a full-time job and an MBA, I’ve started 2 new projects with the hopes of turning my interests into new honing knives for new skills.
In my free time, I like to bake. Shown here is my “commissioned” murder weapon cake - just in time for Halloween themed birthday party for my 14-year old.
In 2020, whilst in quarantine, my husband and I discussed how likely some of our favorite shops and restaurants along Buford Highway and other Asian hubs throughout Atlanta might close its doors because they don’t have a strong digital presence. The thought made me register for a new business focused entirely on supporting locally owned businesses on my side of I-285.
As a first generation immigrant, I am no stranger to being the family interpreter or to being the resourceful person tasked with finding support for my large family. Fittingly, in 2016, when my mom was diagnosed with schizophrenia, it was on me to find ways to support her. Unfortunately, I learned first hand how difficult it is to find medical help, whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional for Vietnamese Americans who do not speak English. This need, coupled with the aging Vietnamese population who will likely need more medical intervention in the next 10 years led me to found Switchboardz - a community board to help people like me find professionals who cater to the Vietnamese population.
